Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked through the first few sections of her chapter 6 homework: finding the pivot point and simplex tableau."
"In our session, the student and I worked on finding equivalent fractions. I taught her the strategy of how to check her work by making sure that all fractions found equal the original problem. We also worked on adding mixed and whole fractions."
"The student and I continued studying for his placement test. Topics covered included: factoring, geometry, equations of lines, and solving algebraic equations."
"The student and I went through the material she had covered during the week in school. She was working on factoring, multiplying, and dividing rational expressions. The student started her homework before our session and we reviewed the problems. We went over making sure to factor the expressions completely. As we went through problems and discussed rational expressions, the student was able to do the problems faster and correctly the first time. The student said that she took the first part of her math test and thinks she did well. However, she still had the second part to take. We went over properties of conic sections and what information is relevant to conic sections."
"Good to see the student again. This session focused on the final exam review. The session went over the following subjects: series convergence intervals, representing functions as power series, finding coefficients of power series, Taylor and Maclaurin series, limits of series through conversion, integrating power series, recursion, using power series to compute derivatives, and expanding functions using binomial series. He is doing well."
"We covered AP Calculus BC topics, specifically the topics suggested prior to the lesson and additional ones. These include parametric equations, volume of revolutions, Lagrange error, Riemann sums, solving differential equations, and implicit differentiation. I asked probing questions to see how well he understood."
