Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Initial meeting. Reviewed academic work from school year. Played math game to strengthen addition facts."
"Today we covered more exponents and order of operations in math. In English we reviewed direct vs indirect objects as well as action verbs."
"The student practiced her multiplication facts for 6's and 7's. I wrote down some links to educational videos for her to watch that would help her memorize her math facts."
"We started by reviewing the student's homework for the week. She then completed her social studies work for the week. Next she worked on geometry word problems and ended by working on word problems that had to do with multiplication and division."
"We worked on area. We worked with the idea of shaded parts of an area and non-shaded parts of an area and how they interact. The student was having trouble with using the perimeter formula when finding the area. He does understand perimeter really well and he is starting to excel in his homework and got almost all 100s on his school homework. He was little restless today, but overall worked to figure out the concepts. I left him with homework and will send a test over via email for him to complete."
"The students both sat and reviewed with me how to round to the nearest tens and hundreds. We used dry erase boards, made a chart, and talked about the problem step by step. This was a more challenging subject, but both girls were able to teach the concept back to each other at the end of the session."
