"Today's session was used to discuss the molecular mechanisms for inheritance. e discussed chromosomal alterations, the mechanism of crossing over, and linkage. We also took an in depth look at X-linked genes and how they are transmitted to both men and women. The session ended with a look at genomic inheritance and non Mendelian genetics. The student has a solid understanding of both basic genetics and probability, which will serve her well with the word problems. A little more practice will be done with pedigrees and the unusual inheritance mechanisms, but she has a few days to practice using the questions in her workbook. We will meet next Tuesday and discuss biotechnology."
"We reviewed chapter 8 for his upcoming exam. We covered 45 multiple choice questions and went over questions that he missed. We focused on thermodynamics, kinetics, and enzymes with an emphasis on applying them to cells and biochemistry."
