Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was learning how to predict the products of reactions such as the formation of metal hydroxides from metal oxide and water. I walked through each of the types of reactions with her and told her how to tell what kind of product would be formed. We will be meeting again next week."
"We began going over new material that he just started in class. He is currently learning about Energy and its relationship to wavelength, frequency, and speed of light. We covered a little about the history behind the theory as discussed in the textbook and then cleared up some of the content. We then ended the session with practice problems and going over the different types of energy, wavelength, and frequency problems."
"We went over her homework for the week which covered basic principles of chemistry. She focused on ideas and concepts that she had questions about. We covered properties of matter, physical and chemical changes, heating curves, products and reactants, exothermic vs. endothermic reactions, delta H and solving heat capacity equations. She is a very bright girl and catches on to complex ideas very quickly. If she has questions, she says so and then I break it down even further for her. I would then have her explain main ideas and concepts back to me and she did excellently. She is also very organized, which is a great habit."
