Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed for her final. It went well--she seemed to have a basic grasp of most of the concepts, if not a good grasp. We are reviewing again on Sunday for her final that is on Monday. I think she will do really well on it."
"Student and I reviewed grades, developed study objectives, worked on control of stress and statistics. Bought and delivered a heart monitor for student to practice stress control. When relaxed, student is much better at statistics. His grade improved by 8 points in practice. Wish more students were like him."
"Today we went over several problems in preparation for the student's final. We went over the different types of tests and when they are appropriate, and more regression review. We also did ANOVAs and Multiple Regression."
"The student needs help preparing for the final. The majority of our time today was spent on binomial and normal distributions, as well as some basic probability. We reviewed one assignment and are planning on future sessions to get more work done."
"We went over more of her old tests and quizzes to prepare for her final exam. I taught her more short cuts that can be done in the calculator for calculating answers which she said her teacher prefers. I used another textbook to find problems similar to the ones on her old tests and quizzes so she could practice those problems as well."
"I had the student do about 50 problems. We continued our work on combining negative and positive numbers. We also worked on the PEDMAS principle. We also touched base on how to write a statement as a numerical expression."
"We continued to work through packets provided by the Algebra teachers, finishing corrections to the student's work in both packets. I made sure to go over both classes to make sure it stayed fresh in her mind for her upcoming finals."
"I worked with the student on some last-minute review for his math exam tomorrow morning. He had about 15 problems to complete, so we went over them and similar ones so he could be as best prepared for the test. He left the session confident he would do well."
"We went over the practice worksheet for the student's exam tomorrow and I feel she will do really well. She knows how to solve any questions involving circles and her ability to do transformations has greatly improved. All that remains is for her to review the problems. We worked for an hour."
"We reviewed for the student's final exam. Specifically, we went over how to solve system of equations, imaginary numbers, functions and matrices (addition, subtraction, multiplication, determinants, and inverses). We also reviewed how to use his graphic calculator to solve systems of equations. He is doing really well. He can quickly solve the various problems with a little bit of guidance. I have no concerns from this session."
"Today we reviewed for the student's math midterm. We started with chapter one and went through each chapter working a couple of problems from each section that would be covered in the test. We got the majority of the material covered before we called it a night. It was a very productive session."
"I went over the student's past test during this session to prepare him for a makeup test which he had to take. I went over all the problems on the test, and he reciprocated the materials back to me just like I expected. At the end of the session, I knew he was ready for his test."
