Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked with the materials provided for us; we completed two reading comprehension passages together. I suggested he check mark each sentence he read. I also requested that he stop every few paragraphs to summarize what he had just read. This seemed to help his comprehension greatly and he was able to answer the following questions much more accurately. Finally, we wrapped up the session with practicing his word list from last week in addition to gaining a few more to study."
"The student and I began working through the rough draft of her paper, in order to prepare the final draft. We improved sentence structure and word choice, and used the peer and teacher feedback she received to improve the overall structure and content of the paper. I left the student with instructions to implement the remaining instructions from her classmates, and we plan to meeting tomorrow morning to make some final edits."
"For this session, the student and I navigated the online module for her classes. We began the first English lessons, where we discussed and practiced the different types of pronouns. As we progressed through the lessons, the student took two assessments that the lessons required. We discussed effective ways to tackle each English lesson so that she can continue her online courses. Additionally, I showed her what she needed to do each time she worked on an assessment. I am confident in her abilities to succeed."
"This was the first time I met with the student. The session went very well, and I was able to successfully assess the student's learning needs. We focused on several tenses. We also did a reading dictation activity, and had a lot of general conversation time in order to assess the student's needs. Because of the success of this session, I'm well prepared to know what to work on for our next session."
"The student is ready! She has worked hard, and she knows what she has to do. This should be our last session. We went over some of the questions she had problems with when she took a practice test."
"Today, we continued to revise an earlier paper. The student seems to have a much clearer idea of what she is analyzing this time around. When I left, she just needed to finish up the conclusion, which she said she felt confident doing on her own. I told her she could send it to me via email if she needed extra help or comments."
