"Revisited missed test items. Learned triangle interior angle theorem, exterior angle theorem, and related triangle properties. Found missing angle measures using parallel transversal and triangle theorems. Proved that the sum of exterior triangle angle measures is 360. Worked chapter test and sample standardized test items."
"She is a bright student that knows her weak spots and is not afraid to confront them. She needs a visual connection to help understand how to write equations for geometric sequences. We discussed how sequencing is often related to area formulas and practiced several examples. I encouraged her to explore many equation types to find the most likely solution. She picked up on this very quickly. It was a good first session."
"She is covering the same information from the last session. She has a quiz over the information soon, but she doesn't know. We will continue to go over the information until she is provided with something new."
"She is using UC math for her geometry course. We looked over her material for the course, and I expressed some reservations about the content. There is no connection of the concepts to the coordinate plane, and the logic and reasoning portion don't come in until very late in the course and not very in depth. I took a moment to assess the skills she had learned thus far and introduced the next section of her curriculum, but instead I made connections to the coordinate plane, as this will certainly be assessed in ACT or SAT. Moving forward, her mother may choose a different curriculum, and I will be using the tutoring platform to find her some supplemental material."
"She wanted to review truth tables and contrapositive and other statements. She was not very confident, but we are working on that! We reviewed some proofs she had questions on. She is doing well."
"She was confused on her math homework covering finding common denominators and adding and subtracting rational expressions. I had her redo the practice problems until the process made sense. I also helped her with her chemistry review sheet."
