Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we had a quiz review. The student did really well. We did a few proofs, some angle-finding, and a tiny bit of algebra, and he was great at everything. As long as he's really fastidious and double-checks his quiz, he should do well!"
"Simplifying exponential expressions and exponential growth and decay were covered. The student felt more confident after the lesson, specifically with simplifying exponential expressions. I provided him with flashcards to study on the laws of exponents. Knowing these laws will help him solve the longer exponential expressions that need to be simplified. He provided me with old homework quizzes that I have reviewed and will bring back for him next session. I wrote some warm-up review problems that we will cover at the beginning of the next lesson. TI feel confident that he will be able to raise his grade."
"Today, the student studied for the assessment exam. He checked out a practice book from the library, and we went through several sections of the practice exam. He has room for improvement in the next week before his test on Saturday and would do well to continue to practice with the book as much as possible."
"Student A was working on graphing linear equations with varying slopes and intercepts, which she did not have too much trouble with - just a couple of simple mistakes here and there. Student B struggled a bit with what we were working on, which was finding rates of change. We'll work on that more in our next session."
"The student and I covered basic Algebra principles tonight. Some he knew, and we practiced those; some he did not know, and I was able to fill in the blanks for him. We were able to move quickly through the first 2 units. He is working on graphs for his homework and has a handle on this."
"We prepared for a test by going over the review sheet. Topics covered included percent changes, ratios, proportions, mixture problems, exponents, order of operations, and division. I made a review sheet for the student to look over before the test. He showed he is competent in the concepts, so I am confident he is ready for his test."
