Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I finished up today over some of the practice problems that she had been given. We went through her answers to a few of the large research design questions that were on the old exams. She is prepared for her exam tomorrow! We plan to resume sessions after the exam so I can help her with her regression course as well."
"During this session, the student and I reviewed chapter 1 in his pre-calculus book in order to solidify some key concepts. He seemed to understand all concepts. We also reviewed some biology topics and also did some practice with outlining essays. I think that outlining essays is a good skill to develop, not just for his academic coursework but also for the assessments that he will be taking next year!"
"The current concept is finding the volume of shapes, specifically using multiple formulas to find the volume of an odd shape. The student learned how to split the problem apart and was able to use the formulas in real world applications, such as how to find the volume of rooms in his home. Next week the student should begin reviewing for his cumulative mid-term the first week of March."
"The student and I worked on graphing polynomials and figuring out an equation based on the graph. She did a great job finding the zeros and with multiplicity. We also did a little work on imaginary numbers."
"We covered factoring polynomials completely and synthetic and long division in preparation for the student's test."
"The student was preparing for the Chapter 5 test on points of concurrency. We completed a couple of proofs together and did a review sheet provided by the teacher."
