Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on and completed his project that is due next week. We made a plan for what we will work on at our next session."
"I worked with the student today on math through the 6th grade math book she owns. She wants to be able to work through the entire book and move on to 7th grade math, so we went through the chapter test of each chapter in the book. We worked on several concepts, including scientific notation, multiplying powers of ten to other numbers, LCM, GCF, prime factorization, percents, fractions, and more. We got through about six chapter reviews."
"The student and I reviewed reducing fractions using her homework. We then practiced decimal division and long division using very large numbers. We also practiced multiplication using large numbers."
"We went through his chemistry homework first. It was about acids, bases and their properties. I explained to him the concepts and asked him to answer the questions. He understood the concept and he was able to answer the questions. Then we went through his algebra homework. it was about geometric series. I showed him how he has to use each formula to answer the questions. He is doing good and he needs to practice the geometric series a little."
"The student did a great job this session. We worked hard on ellipses and hyperbolas and the student seemed to enjoy doing them. Because he didn't have homework, we also watched some informative videos to help further explain some aspects of the work."
"The student and I worked in Chapter 8 on determining if a set of coordinates was a function. We also used equations to find inputs and outputs of functions. She worked well through the equations. During the word problems, she had difficulty finding the independent and dependent variables. We will need to continue working on this concept."
