How can a tutor help you master the PSAT?

The PSAT, or Preliminary SAT, is a test given in the fall of your tenth or eleventh grade year. One reason to take the PSAT is to see where you are in terms of being ready for the SAT. Your PSAT score does not go to potential colleges or universities, but your SAT score does. Taking the PSAT could give you nearly the same experience as taking the SAT, as it is created to be very like the SAT, including changing format and question types as the SAT does. Another reason to take the exam is because it is also known as the NMSQT, or National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which does what it says - decides whether you qualify for the prestigious National Merit Scholarships. For either or both of these purposes, it's a test you want to be prepared for. A private tutor can be just the way to study so you might excel on this exam. Contact an educational director at Varsity Tutors for help finding PSAT tutors in Cedar Park, TX.

Try to maximize your productivity by calling the Varsity Tutors educational directors in Cedar Park to find an expert PSAT tutor. When you work with a tutor, you work on what you need to work on. It's not like in a classroom where every subject is covered equally. Your tutor will spend extra time working on the things you need help on, and won't waste your time working on things you don't need help on. This way, you could learn more content in a shorter time than you would with other types of studying.

We covered the review book today. The three chapters covered today included cellular respiration, photosynthesis, and ecology. The student had a good grasp of the steps of the energy metabolism but she had questions on the significance of those processes. We took time to review the steps again and also to clarify the differences between the cellular respiration and photosynthesis. It was important that cellular respiration is the source of ATP (energy) for the plants, even though photosynthesis still includes electron transport chain. In terms of ecology, we reviewed the chapter since it will be on next week's exam. We reviewed what she knew and also looked at topics that were not on her school materials, but will be on the SAT. She drew diagrams on her own to review so it was a good review.
