Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student didn't have questions on the current section, so I introduced information in the upcoming chapter sections. We did some sample problems from these sections. Material included trends in the periodic table."
"The student and I worked on some adivinanzas (topics: animals, food), then worked on a puzzle (topic: Cuba). The first exercise aimed at her listening and speaking skills (pronunciation); the second, to the acquisition of vocabulary."
"Today was the student's last day with me. She was a pleasure to teach. The student is eager, energetic, radiant, hardworking, and bright. The student had a tough road to cover and significant amount of material in a short time. The student and I worked diligently and methodically. I assigned homework every session."
"Topics covered include an overview of basic Spanish topics, verbs like gustar, and the preterite tense. Progress achieved was a gauge as to what level she is at in Spanish, a better understanding of verbs like gustar, and how to compose sentences in the preterite tense."
"The student and I focused this session on practice problems covering Hess's Law, dimensional analysis, and limiting reaction factors. He struggled most with the Hess's Law problems; I suggested he practice an additional worksheet during the week for extra practice. He particularly needs to focus on recognizing how the reactions fit together and keeping track of the sign of the enthalpies. After a few examples, he was able to complete dimensional analysis and limiting factor problems on his own."
"The student and I reviewed a learning activity that focused on aggregate concepts in macroeconomics, including aggregate demand and supply, changes that result in movements along each curve versus curve shifts, effects impacting the aggregate demand curve (and this is one area that he will review in more detail), actual vs. potential output and how this results in recessions or expansions (inflation), and policy actions including stabilization strategies."
