Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today's session with the student went really well. We continued working on trig functions and completed a homework packet and started another homework assignment for him. After we got done today he seemed to have a much better grasp on the concept. My study skills that I passed on was on how to approach the problems from a stand point of using one of the four trig functions. He took half of his chapter seven exam Friday and the teacher said that he did very well."
"We worked on a review for a test on solving right triangles. We used the Pythagorean thm., Sine, Cosine and Tangent ratios, Pythagorean triples, 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangle relationships. We also worked on problems involving angle of elevation and depression. At the end of the session I gave her a practice test to work on. The session was great."
"Today was a fairly laid back session with the student. We started by reviewing his most recent test and going over the questions he missed. He did a much better job on them a second time, with much more command over the material. After, he and I reviewed some of his material from his latest chapter in class to reinforce any missed lessons. And finally, I helped his brother answer some questions that he also had about geometry."
"Today's session was split between chemistry and geometry. For chemistry, we continued with gas law problems-introducing the ideal gas law. In geometry, we reviewed right angle trigonometry in preparation for the student's test."
"We went over material for the student's quiz on Friday. She understood everything. We went over strategies on neatness such as formula substitutions. I left her with some review problems for next time."
"Today the student finished two and a half homework assignments that are due by Friday. They included trigonometry in right triangles using sin, cos, and tan to find sides of triangles or angles within the triangles through inverse trig functions."
