"The student requested to go through some examples in preparation for her final. For this session, we spent the entire time working through depreciation examples. She chose some problems from her book as examples. The first problem involved using the depreciation methods of straight line and reducing balance. The second example calculated the gain or loss on the sale of items stating a specific date of sale used to find the net book value. The final problem involved building an income statement and balance sheet based on given information, adding in the extra calculations for depreciation expenses. She will send me her final answer to check for accuracy. She will go through her coursework to decide where she needs to focus our time before scheduling our next session."
"Today we went over the remaining part of the student's practice final. We discussed managerial decisions and both qualitative and quantitative tools that can be used to aid the decision making process such as balanced scorecards. I gave him a few more tips on question comprehension and suggested that he do some practice problem before his final."
"The student and covered topics regarding financial statement analysis such as: current ratios, debt to equity, debt to assets, etc. We also covered problems regarding PV, PVA, FV and FVA. He seemed to grasp the information as we went through some of the problems. I expressed the importance of having to remember the equations for his test. He and I will plan to meet again early next week before his exam on Wednesday. In the meantime, he will continue to practice multiple choice questions distributed by his professor."
