The session began with excellent news: The student got a 2260 on her SAT, and most notably she got an 800 on her math section for which we prepared during sessions! We then went into test review mode. The topics to be covered are U-substitution, Area between curves, and Fundamental Theorems. She felt good about area between curves, fairly confident about the fundamental theorems, but was worried about u-substitution, so we concentrated on u-substitution in particular. Her teacher had created a review sheet, and she had completed it to the best of her ability. I answered questions and then came up with original problems based off the ones that gave her the most issues. We did two rounds of problems, and she significantly improved with the latter set. I told her to look over the problems before her exam.

The student and I went over the product rule, the quotient rule, logarithmic differentiation, related rates, implicit differentiation, word problems, differentiation rules, and the exponential and logarithmic functions. She struggled a little with being able to identify what part in the word problem corresponded to what derivative (i.e. which rate), but after I explained it to her she quickly understood. I also explained about adding in an additional derivative (e.g. dx/dt or dy/dt) to account for the chain rule in implicit differentiation when doing related-rates problems.
