Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I began to work on using the product and quotient rule. I explained what each one was and how they are used, and we went through some examples. We covered some techniques to get around doing more work than is necessary. We also covered how the derivative and the rules mentioned help when asked to find a tangent line."
"The student and I caught up and did an inventory of what our schedule going forward was going to be like. We covered Mean, Std Dev, Root Mean Square and did a few exercises on linear systems."
"The student and I completed her homework regarding product and quotient rule for finding derivatives. We worked on simplification after applying the quotient rule, as well as using other rules to make these problems simpler. Although she had not yet learned chain rule, I introduced it to her tonight. We left three proof type problems for her to do on her own as a challenge/review from our session."
"The student and I continued our review of calculus. We went over 2 of the 5 problems we had skipped over initially. Before that, we looked over problems we covered previously to make sure the student was clear on the concepts. We will complete the review next session."
"The student and I covered chapter 2 on our first session. The chapter covers limits, and we discussed the teacher's homework and the upcoming exam. We established a schedule for preparing for the exam and will meet again to review for the exam."
"The student and I covered basics on derivatives and limits for her test. She needed help with a few basic concepts, which we fixed. She was very positive and apt to learn the material. I did include a strategy for taking limits, always testing the approaching number first."
