Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During the session we worked on the assignment a bit, and it involved simply writing definitions of different trigonometric functions, and highlighting their properties."
"We went over a practice test on rational functions to prepare the student for her exam on Friday. Topics covered included limits (briefly), describing properties of a given function and sketching from those calculated values, using derivatives to find extreme values of a function, and examining sign changes to determine where a function increases and decreases. The student did very well going through the problems. I provided her with a few tips on keeping figures straight to avoid making mistakes in calculations."
"The student and I worked on his homework. He is working on vectors. So far he seems to be doing okay with them but there is room for improvement. We will continue to work on them until he has a sound foundation."
"We practiced a lot of problems involving trigonometric functions, then worked on a few problems proving equations using identities. Then we worked on solving equations with trigonometric functions. The student has really strong math skills, so it was good practice being able to go over some of the harder problems."
"This session we created a graphic organizer that the student was assigned for homework. The organizer included topics such as the unit circle, trigonometry ratios, and converting between radians and degrees. We also reviewed a few topics that he had on his last test."
"I had the student do questions to practice for her upcoming pre-calculus test on conics. We then reviewed vectors and I helped her with a physics assignment covering them."
