Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on vectors in sections 8.1-8.3 to prepare for her quiz on Thursday. We practiced the new terminology and she now has a better understanding of the words. She is picking it up the new concepts quickly as we work extra examples. We are meeting tomorrow to finish some examples and make a study guide."
"The student and I reviewed graphing different types of functions, and how to find the domain and range of various functions. He is still learning what certain functions look like, but recognizes them once they are graphed."
"In our session on March 26th, the student and I continued to work on exponential functions and their graphs. She showed remarkable improvement in the subject matter in the time between this session and our last ."
"The student had a worksheet about a test that she previously took. It mainly consisted of functions that are fractions, how to solve them, and how to find important details about their graphs. There were a lot of concepts in this worksheet, but once I reminded her about how they were done in the beginning of her class, it was a lot easier for her to solve the problem."
"We covered trig identities for sum, difference, product, double angle, and half angle. We also covered how to find the trig functions for odd angles that are either negative or larger than 2 PI. Finally, we did some verification of identities proofs."
"We got to know each other a little and discussed the student's desired outcomes. We also studied the topics in his most recent lecture notes. The content was about types of discontinuities, interval and set notation, and intercepts. He did well in geometry, so I showed him how these concepts can best be understood geometrically rather than merely as algebraic procedures."
