Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through half of the semester's review packet today, covering derivatives, integrals, exponentials, and logarithms. We just needed a quick refresher on some of the topics from the beginning of the semester."
"We went over last-minute Calculus free response and multiple choice problems today, with some focus being on efficiency strategies."
"Today, we reviewed the material her class has gone through since the last session. I discussed her homework with her and did some practice problems. We also went over some of her chemistry."
"Today I was helping the student prepare for her quiz tomorrow by going briefly over the concepts she had learned before break as a refresher and focusing on concepts that she seemed to struggle with. Of everything we went over, the only difficulties she had were with cancellation and percent problems. In our next I intend to have her solve several more of these types of problems in order to remind her of how to do them and hopefully stick it in her brain with repetition."
"We went over a lot of his old tests and quizzes. A lot of his errors were computational errors resulting from not canceling a negative or not factoring properly. We reviewed taking the derivative of a function using the chain rule, as well as the difference between continuous and differentiable."
"We covered the graphing of parabolas, how to find the focus and directrix of parabolas both on a graph and through equations, and how to graph parabolas using the vertex, focus, and directrix. Next, we did a few problems covering the distance formula, and we then moved to circles. We covered how to find the equation of a circle, how to find the center and radius of a circle given an equation, and how to graph circles. Finally, we went over how to find the perpendicular bisector of a line from 2 points of an original line by finding the negative inverse slope and using the midpoint of the original line to find the y intercept and whole equation of the second line."
