Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed a reading comprehension section that she worked on. We also discussed time management for each test section. I have asked him to practice on one logical reasoning and one reading comprehension section each today."
"The first half of today's lesson was spent reviewing logical reasoning questions. We did some timed practice questions from a variety of different question types. One area we spotlighted for improvement is the "resolve the paradox" question type. The second half was spent reviewing In-Out logic games. The final game was of high difficulty and incorporated many of the conditional logic techniques we have learned so far."
"Today we covered logic games, then reviewing linear and multi-variable linear games. The student grasped the concepts well. We worked on how to set certain games up, then reviewed the games section of the recent exam."
"We worked on pronunciation, basic vocabulary, alphabet, and week days. The student was very open-minded and was a fast learner. I have the student some hand-outs and visuals from the textbook. I will send them a list of vocabulary, film recommendations, and survival guides in Germany. "
"I started a new spelling list and sort with the student today. Then I had him pick a quote from a book of inspiring precepts by RJ Palacio, hoping he could write a couple of paragraphs with a personal connection and opinion. I then asked him to work on a personal narrative. I had him watch a video on adding details, and that seemed to help. His second attempt was much better, and I asked him to think further about the setting, and the way things felt and looked. We will continue working on this."
"We met today and worked on the database. We worked on some physical science and then some biology. Topics included innate and adaptive immune systems, macrophages, T cells, thymus, circuits (resistance in parallel and in series), capacitors (in series and parallel), voltage and current, Ohm's law, and speed of sound and light in different mediums."
