Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed basics - conjugating verbs, declining nouns, pronouns, and so on. The student should keep reviewing what we went over."
"The reading in chapter 12 features all four tenses we've learned so far: present, imperfect, perfect, and pluperfect. We progressed slowly through the reading because I wanted to be a stickler for correct translation. (This will help the student later in more advanced Latin when he has to deal with the sequence of tenses.) We still have a couple more paragraphs of the reading to complete during our next session, so in lieu of other exercises I asked him to read ahead and prepare notes to aid his translation next time."
"The student and I reviewed the different uses of the ablative and also went over accusative of place to which. We did a couple exercises from the book, then the end of chapter translation. I took the opportunity to talk to him about the different resources translators have to manage when they read a text. We will meet again on Thursday after his test."
