Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I reviewed sig figs with student A and went over geometry. With student B, we worked through geometry test corrections. Then we worked through an assignment in chemistry."
"The student and I finished chapter 3 and 4 review questions. We then focused on limiting reagent, excess yield, percent composition, and naming problems. We went over metric units and other stoichiometry considerations for her exam tomorrow."
"I helped the student finish her ideal gas law and equilibrium constant homework questions. We also went over some questions that she had on her previous homeworks and tests. We then started working on review questions for her next test."
"In this session, we covered rate expressions, how to derive them, and how they relate to equilibrium constants. I gave some strategies for how to determine these expressions for both one step and multistep processes. Following this, I followed up on some questions that were left from last session relating to the Nernst equation and cell energy. The student looks to be in good shape for his test tomorrow."
"In this session, we covered the concept of polyatomic ions. The student struggled with this topic, but I pressed her in make a list in order to remember all of the polyatomics. She started to get a little more comfortable as the session progressed."
"In this session, we covered Unit 3 on the structure of the atom. The student took notes on the structure of the atom, subatomic particles, atomic number, mass number, and periods vs. groups. We also filled in a periodic table with helpful information about the properties of the elements based on their position on the periodic table."
