Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is nearly done! He did another great draft, and we're working on the lower order now. I think we'll be able to finish this essay and start another in our next session."
"We had a very good session doing homework and practicing spelling and writing 3 letter words. The student was attentive and focused."
"The student completed 1.5/3 of the assignments that he had intended to complete. We continued to work on the second assignment. We worked on his comprehension of the short story "The Most Dangerous Game". At times, he seemed overwhelmed while trying to understand the passages. The student continues to struggle to perceive non-literal themes. However, he appeared to bounce back for the second half of the session and did a better job of summarizing the events in the stories and inferring character conflicts/feelings. The student plans on finishing the remainder of his assignments by this coming weekend."
"The student edited his persuasive essay on why children should not be paid for chores around the house and is making good progress. I corrected some grammar/punctuation errors and he will resubmit the essay next session. We discussed compare/contrast essays and how to write them, with the student picking a topic of his own. I look forward to reading it!"
"The student finished his final essay about being president. He then read How to Have an Adventure and answered questions. It was a reading level S book. He did very well reading and answering the questions. He then started a rough draft about Christmas Eve. I gave him a graphic organizer to plan."
"The student finished his paper quickly, and we were even able to start planning for his next essay. He did a great job with some very difficult reading material and still made sure that his own voice stood out among his sources. Well done!"
