Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on decoding small words in bigger words, while reading. We also started writing a story, creating an idea, and then creating a rough draft."
"The student and I once again reviewed his homework. We were able to finish his science pre-lab questions and his math division worksheet on two-digit divisors. In preparation for his upcoming test on Mesopotamia, we made flashcards for key terms. He was able to finish the 8 required for homework, and we completed some extra so he would not have to do them over the weekend."
"Edited essay on "mom & dad," reviewed editing assignment, and discussed assignment on latest issue of "Scholastic Review.""
"The student and I went over his book for the week. It was a little bit of a longer book, so we didn't get to read the whole thing. We talked about the main events that happened in the text and discussed the characters. He answered all of the questions I asked him well and worked hard."
"The student and I went over his vocabulary and sight words. He is starting to get a little better at his blends, and he also does better if he touches and traces the word before he says it. He is a new reader, and he read me his story for the week. He needed a little help decoding some of the words, but that's to be expected."
"The student and I went over some of his graded homework assignments first, and I helped him understand each of the missed questions. Then, we read about a dozen pages of his motorcycle book in order to write his four sentences for homework. He did very well with listening and trying his best, and it showed in his reading and writing!"
