Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did several practices in Chapter 5. She was assigned to do 4-5 practices in Chapter 6 before our next session."
"Today I taught the student some Pinyin, including numbers, number patterns, months and some conversational Chinese. She is doing great!"
"We worked on pronunciation. The student still needs to practice more about the "he'gu", "xi/shi", etc."
"We reviewed stem-changing verbs and numbers by making sentences about the student's daily schedule. It was a good review, because she had forgotten some things, but got it by the end. She has a vocabulary quiz tomorrow. We only reviewed the words about family, because she said she felt comfortable with the other words. We reviewed her flashcards and corrected some spelling, and then practiced in context, such as with family trees. Then we practiced listening to those words as I asked her questions with them. She did a great job and is improving."
"We reviewed the conjugation of the verb to go in present simple and the personal pronouns. The student did a great job even when he didn't feel that way. He does a lot of listening exercises and that helps him, also he has a lot of vocabulary so when we have a session he uses it and that is beneficial and productive. He has extra practice to memorize vocabulary and verbs. We agreed that the following session we are going to start having conversations, so half of the session would be around a certain topic."
"We reviewed the following: Spanish alphabet; colors; numbers 1-20; Spanish common terms, including Thank you, hello, see you later, I don't know, etc.; days of the week; months of the year; restaurant menu food items; and fruits. I will email a YouTube video on vowels to the student to practice prior to our next session. I provided her with all materials we used during session. She is quite proficient in her Spanish, she needs mentoring in pushing her outside the box in speaking the language. We will review terms/words used in conjunction to vacationers vacationing in a Spanish country at our next upcoming sessions."
