Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued reading Ovid's Amores, finishing up 1.1 and moving on to 1.3. The student's ability to translate is very good, and I encouraged him to continue working on his vocabulary."
"The student translated through lines 137-150 of Ovid's Pyramus and Thisbe; discussed grammatical topics such as participles (present active and perfect passive) and dative of possession."
"The student and I reviewed the grammar of nouns and verbs. We practiced translating sentences from Latin to English."
"We worked on preterite verb conjugation and vocabulary, practiced speaking, reading, and translating. We also worked through a math review for the student's test tomorrow on graphing and finding the inverse and translation of functions. "
"We worked on pronunciation and numbers. We reviewed numbers zero to a million, and how to spell and pronounce each group. Also went over different ways the client uses numbers in her work: prices of different packages available, phone numbers, and days of the week. We reviewed days of the week and months of the year as well. The client was unable to complete the homework from last session, so she will try again this week, but now with adding in number usage as well to describe the date the described event happened in her life, how much something cost that was purchased, and the day of the week it occurred. She mostly struggled with some pronunciation, so I shared some sound connection tips with her and grammatical reasons for the vowels/words to be pronounced as such. In the numbers discussion, she struggled with the bigger ones, so we reviewed them and then practiced using them in real-life usage scenarios."
"We worked on subject pronouns and AR verb conjugations. The student needs to always check his work for spelling. We discussed the importance of studying/reviewing for about 15 minutes every day in addition to any homework."
