Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued going over possessive articles declensions together. In the second half we had little conversations to consolidate her knowledge."
"The student and I used the 90 minutes for conversation practice and will return to partial conversation, partial grammar instruction in our next meeting."
"We reviewed basic conversational phrases, basic verb conjugations: Ich gehe, er geht, wir gehen, etc."
"We introduced ourselves, spoke in target language for the majority of the first hour about our histories, jobs, families, travel experiences, and goals for learning Spanish. Student is rusty on verb tenses, direct and indirect object pronouns, and speaking/listening comprehension with fluency. Homework assigned for next Monday's session is to write a 3-paragraph story of a memory she has from her life that gives her great joy. I want to evaluate her use of the language in written form, now that I've assessed her spoken and listening comprehension. She also is to practice moving her mouth and tongue around to try to get a vibration in her tongue, enough to replicate and exercise her tongue with the future goal of rolling her "r"s. We were both very excited about this session, and look forward to the next!"
"We reviewed last week's vocabulary and homework. We then worked through several workbook exercises and added new words, phrases, and verbs (in the case of the student) to our notes. Both have their own homework assignments for next week's meeting. Good job."
"We reviewed numbers with a dice activity and with a card activity. Then, we practiced conjugation with a different dice activity. During the session, we also covered the masculine, feminine, singular, and plural articles and how they work with nouns. He has cards to study. I encouraged him write notes in class and to study 15-20 minutes daily."
