Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I reviewed for his quiz on the preterite vs. imperfect. We went over multiple homework problems. I went over conjugation and covered the irregulars. He also completed some practice online. He was comfortable with the material, so I suggested he review again tomorrow before class and review conjugation of the irregulars."
"We covered indirect commands, subjunctive in adjective clauses, subjunctive in adverbial clauses, imperfect subjunctive, and future tense. I also gave an intro to the conditional tense in Spanish. We had a brief rundown of everything the student is going to be learning in her class. We used a lot of examples, and I gave her more challenging examples where she translated from English to Spanish. I am sending her a Word doc with review from today and examples. I think she did a great job."
"The student has a good working knowledge of the material. Much of what we talked about today was memorization of Spanish grammar concepts."
"The session went very well. The student had 5 pages of homework dealing with verbs that change only in the form of "yo," and vocabulary related to clothing, stores, and going shopping. She also had to make sentences using the given vocabulary."
"The client is working on vocabulary that corresponds with activities done as a child, as a means of working with the imperfect tense in Spanish. He's incorporating verbs he's been learning all year and constructing sentences. I'm helping with conjugation, sentence structure, and pronunciation."
"The student had 2 quizzes last week. He got a 100% on one and does not know his grade for the other yet. He has a unit test coming up this week. I had him come up with sentences using "haber," "estar," and "ser" and vocabulary words from the chapter. He always says that is what he needs to work on most- creating sentences. He did pretty well with it."
