I teach Statistics and History, and have two Masters degrees from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, an M.B.A. and M.A. I have extensive tutoring and classroom teaching experience at Webster University and Southwestern Illinois College (Belleville).When I teach Statistics I guide the student through various practice problems that are based on real world business scenarios. By the time we are finished, the student will have an intuitive feel for the concepts and will know which formula to apply to any given problem.When teaching History, the focus will always be on the big picture. Once the student understands the larger concepts, the names and the dates will fall into place.My hobbies include Cardinal's Baseball, guitar, literature and walking my dog.In short, my philosophy is make it real, make it fun.

I grew up in Florissant, in the public school system. I valued the education I received. I then attended and graduated from the University of Missouri- St. Louis, following my passion, teaching. Since graduating, I have been able to pursue my career in education. In the Ferguson Florissant school district, I have completed two years of teaching. I have taught 3rd grade one year, and recently taught 6th. Each year, my students have made an impact on me. They will always hold a place in my heart and be my students. I am dedicated to helping others succeed. Which is what brought me to teaching. I want to share my passion with others and be apart of their growth. I am an education entrepreneur that has demonstrated impact in improving literacy in every context. I enjoyed being a ELA teacher, but found teaching Social Studies to be so enriching because you can build their literacy skills through projects and formatted discourse.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia (MIZ!) with my Bachelor's in Bioengineering with a Biomedical emphasis. My background in Bioengineering not only provides expertise in Math and Biology concepts but also the skills to analyze any problem and work at the solution with diligence. I enjoy tutoring Math and Biology (Anatomy specifically) but also have a passion for helping students with English and Essay Writing. Throughout my undergraduate years, I made it my mission to tutor primary and secondary students in addition to my involvement in peer study group sessions. As the Executive Director for a Faith Based non-profit I established a Tutor component to the business. I took classes at Applied Scholastics to become a certified Tutor/Trainer. My organization became a licensee via Applied Scholastics to operate in the state of Missouri as a Tutoring Supplemental Educational Service in various school districts in the St. Louis Missouri area. I have tutored for over 15 years as well as have trained tutors to help young students in reading, language arts, and math. My favorite subject to tutor is reading, because it enlightens me to see a young person gain confidence after discovering the mastery of reading. I am a determined learner and I am determined to teach others how to learn.
