Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight we worked on more multiplication problems. We started out with a target activity with filling in the missing pieces. I am sending some of this to the student's mother so she can see what we did. Then we worked on creating the equations and finding the products to go with them. She did well with it. I am following up with more practice."
"We reviewed vocabulary, context clues, reading comprehension, and reading fluency. We worked in two workbooks that were provided by the client."
"The student's worksheets on ecology and the environment are due tomorrow, so we spent most of the session working on those. We talked about the difference between biotic, abiotic, and cultural features of an environment, and practiced categorizing different things we saw around the house and the backyard. Her spelling is improving!"
"The student and I went over some online assignments she had for her English Honors class. The assignments involve interpreting facts from various cases and then answering questions about the cases. The student and I worked on his extra credit assignment for AP Psychology, which will replace his lowest letter grade. This is an excellent opportunity for him to raise his grade in the class."
"The student and I worked on completing his Math final study guide. He needed a little help figuring out how to subtract and divide fractions, but once reminded, he did well. He also needed to complete his Lord of the Flies reading and comprehension questions. We read as much as we could (it was a very long section), and he will finish it himself."
"The student and I worked on his science, as he needed to study for a test tomorrow. We also solved a math word problem together and reviewed and learned from his last math test. We also finished up a literature packet."
