Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered total, probability formula, Bayes Theorem, Conditional probability, independence. The student's attitude was positive. She needs to practice from the book to get a good understanding of the concepts."
"Today's lesson went very well. The student's homework was on statistics, and we went over his study guide. In general, he was able to complete everything. I showed him another method for finding the median, which he seemed to understand and was able to use. Overall, it was a very good session."
"The student showed me that so far for this marking period, he has an A in Math. The student has been learning cross products/cross multiplication. He completed his homework sheet on it and feels very comfortable with it. I gave him some simplifying fractions problems and he did well. I gave him additional practice problems on addition, multiplication and division of fractions and equivalent ratios and he handled all of these extremely well. His attitude during the session was great."
"We went over how to do related rates problems. I showed the student that you can associate a physical quantity with the functions and derivatives that she was given, and that helped a lot. We also worked on how to manipulate equations to solve for the particular derivative the question was asking for; that was a huge help especially with problems that changed values of a variable for the same constraints."
"We reviewed content from the previous week. The student had a test and did well, but wanted to solidify her knowledge on the standard form of linear equations. Then we began working with functions focusing on domain and ranges of linear, absolute value, greatest integer, and piecewise functions."
"Today, I wanted to review more precalculus topics, such as inverse functions and how to deal with negative and fractional exponents. I felt these were necessary because it will come up often in calculus. Next, I did more review on derivatives and focused mainly on chain rule. I gave him some practice problems to work on. Lastly, I did some domain and range problems."
