Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We discussed derivatives and did online homework problems related to it. We mainly concentrated on graphs that represent the derivative of the original function."
"Began discussing antiderivatives and integration. Went over numerical approximations to calculate the area under a curve and the use of the fundamental theorem of calculus to do the same."
"Went over the assessment Calculus free response problems. The student is showing improvement, and we will continue working on this material in our next session."
"I gave the students problems using the FOIL method. They both did well when solving for x for two equal ratios. I gave Student 2 some simplification with problems to solve and problems with variables and he did well with them. They both had good attitudes today."
"The student did well today! She improved on her quiz grade, which was good! We covered some more factoring (because she was having difficulty with it last session) and she did well! With her quizzes, I suggest she time her homework and she how she does with timing. On Tuesday, I'm going to give her a timed quiz and check her results. I believe her test/quiz grades will get better when she feels more confident. Additionally, today we learned about logarithms. She hadn't seen the concepts/learned them before, so today we just went over the basics. I left her with a worksheet to complete that went over what we learned with logarithms today. Next session, we'll learn another more complex concept with solving/evaluating logarithmic equations. Overall, she did well and she's improving! :)"
"Algebra 2 We covered and reviewed imaginary numbers, solving and factoring various polynomial equations, writing polynomial equations given roots, and organizational strategies to take when solving math problems."
