"We worked on the students' packet of worksheets. It consisted of material covering some topics she struggles with such as right triangle, similar triangles. Also, it consists of Pythagorean theorem and trigonometric ratios. Although, she is able to solve some transformation problems, I see that she doesn't have a full understanding of transformation relating to dilation and rotation."
"The student just had a test, so we moved forward in the book. We talked about polygons and the definition of regular, convex, concave and theorems regarding the sum of interior and exterior angles for convex polygons. We used all of this information to solve algebra problems regarding interior angles of convex polygons. We also covered problems involving parallelograms. I think she was able to follow along and understood the logic once it was presented to her. I'm hoping that next week she will be able to do most of the set up on her own, now that she has seen some examples."
"We discussed volumes for Prisms, Cones, and Spheres. The student was confident but still asked questions when he needed to. We went over techniques on applying formulas. Overall, the student seemed prepared for his quiz."
"The student has her ACT the following day. She wanted to review the Science section, so we worked mostly on Science questions that were also math related. We touched upon the reading-based science questions. I gave her some reading strategies and helped her interpret the graphs better."
"Today we reviewed old material and went over concepts that the student has had trouble with in the past. He's doing well in all of his classes and is well prepared for the rest of the week until our next session."
"We went over material that the student had been taught in class but that didn't make sense. We did several practice problems for the book discussing different strategies for how to solve these. The student got better with the problems as we continued. He feels more confident about the material."
