"Today we went over using the accusative with personal pronouns. Next time we'll work on using both accusative and dative more fluently in sentences."
"We covered the conditional tense (subjunctive) more in depth. We went through notes and reviewed conjugating and word order of complex sentences in German."
"Today I assessed the student's general needs and goals. After creating a road map we then began lessons covering noun genders and verb conjugations."
"We reviewed grammar and vocabulary from Chapters 1-4. The student struggled with vocabulary, but was very engaged and strived to be as best prepared as possible for his final exam. I will send a little reminder with some vocabulary and a grammar rule he was struggling with. The student's use of grammar and content comprehension plus pronunciation has improved."
"The student and I went over assignments for Collegio and German. In Collegio, we reviewed topics the teacher suggested for an upcoming essay on "The Scarlet Letter." The student selected the topic about the tragic hero as defined by Aristotle in The Poetics, but was unsure whether to focus on Dimmesdale or Chillingworth in his essay. To aid his decision making, we collaborated on a list of points to cover for each character, based on the subtopics provided by the teacher. In German, we went through the first chapter of his novella, making sure that he understood what the story was saying. He then wrote a diary entry for the protagonist based on the events of her day as described in the story, and we also went through a quick vocab match exercise that was in the book."
"The student shared with me that she got a 98% on her test! I'm so proud of her, she always does a good job with the material. We finished up her homework for her next unit and then moved on to some other subjects. She is taking an anatomy class, so we made flashcards covering common prefixes/suffixes and studied them. I'm surprised at how fast she is able to learn this new material!"
