"We did more homework problems. The problems still concentrated on taking the limit of a function. Then, we went on with the introduction to derivatives, where we would find the derivative of a function through taking a limit of that function."
"We finished covering graphs of trig functions. The student was able to recognize the patterns and successfully graph most of them. We also covered how to evaluate inverse trig functions."
"We covered related rates and the position velocity review sheet. The student is getting progressively higher grades in quizzes and tests. Good job!"
"We worked on u substitution, area word problems, function plots and extrema. The student is definitely improving, and getting more comfortable and confident with the material with the extra practice."
"The student and I worked through problems on exponential growth, even/odd functions, and shifting functions. I think he struggles most with starting a solution; possibly this stems from not understanding exactly what a problem is asking to solve. I've suggested that he writes down in mathematical terms what word problems are stating so he understands the connection."
"Today, we introduced the topic implicit differentiation. The student was not in class when the topic was discussed, so I first spent time reviewing the similarities and differences between normal differentiation. After working some examples, the student completed his homework, and he showed great improvement throughout the lesson. The last problem was very challenging, and I left him with a detailed resource explaining the solution."
