Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on two homework worksheets that reviewed and put into practice the conservation of energy and Newton's summation of forces to find information about a given system. The student looked at systems that involved kinetic, gravitational potential, elastic potential, and thermal energies and how the energies were converted from the first state into the second state. She seemed at ease setting up the problems, writing out the givens, and solving the equations."
"The student and I worked on some practice problems from Fluids and Oscillations. He does a good job of deriving the equations. He is a very bright student and has a great attitude. He scored the highest in his class on his last exam. He is going to continue to work on the material. He has a good concept of it and continues to work hard."
"The student and I worked on a homework assignment covering Faraday's Law of Induction. One problem involved some advanced geometric assumptions. It was a good review of the basics of Electricity and Magnetism as well as oscillatory motion."
"We covered 1D kinematics and free fall problems. The student was strong with most of the material. She had a confident and positive attitude with the homework that we covered. We drew diagrams/filled in data with a shared screen."
"We covered 1D motion, and I explained to the student the difference between velocity and speed, and how to interpret distance-time and velocity-time graphs. We also went through her review packet and did simple 1D kinematics problems."
"We covered basic Newtonian physics, as well as work and energy. The student was having trouble with force components and free body diagrams on an incline. The student also had a little trouble with friction forces. The student was more comfortable with these by the end of the session. I recommended additional practice for the next session. The student did well with work and energy, and had few problems with the concepts and equations."
