Calculus Tutoring review by Hani in Canton, OH
The topic for today's lesson was Taylor Polynomials and series. We talked a little bit about background topics like convergence, divergence, and ratio test before jumping into the important topics, such as finding the Taylor expansion of a function, finding the Lagrange error, knowing the important Taylor expansions (sin x, cos x, e^x), using derivatives, integrals, division, multiplication of known Taylor expansions to find other Taylor expansions, and related topics.

Calculus Tutoring review by Nathanael in Canton, OH
Today's material was further review of semester material in preparation for the student's final. We started with identifying and calculating values for minimums and maximums. This was followed by reviewing exponents (simplifying expressions that use negative, fraction, or complicated exponential forms). The student struggled with the details of the material, however he dug in and engaged in the basic but serious review of fundamental tools. This was not only necessary but an encouraging pattern. I also checked in with him on the progress and status of his semester long group project. I suggested some additional improvements that could be made as it draws to a close.

Calculus Tutoring review by Joseph in Canton, OH
The student and I continued reviewing for her test over finding area, cross-sectional volume, and rotational volume by integration, working through a study guide together. The student showed great improvement in her retention of the concepts, even when thrown a curve where she needed to integrate with respect to y instead of x.

Calculus Tutoring review by Zachary in Canton, OH
Today we worked through the student's calculus practice exam and discussed strategies for how to study for her next general chemistry test and the final itself. She has multiple tests on Tuesday, one of those being calculus, so we did not cover any chemistry in depth today. She was disappointed with her last chemistry exam score and so we are working on finding new ways to study the material and make her time with me most effective. We have also decided to meet three times a week through finals week to cover all of the material and have her internalize it.

Calculus Tutoring review by Steven in Canton, OH
During our session, the student and I covered implicit differentiation, first and second derivatives using the product rule and quotient rules, and finding tangent lines of a graph at a given point. He did well understanding the topics we covered. We are working on a test review that is due on Thursday. He will have a test this Thursday, and this will be a note to his progress in the course, and in our tutoring sessions. We will have one more session this week to try and work out more of the review questions before his test.
