Tonight we covered Chain Rule, Product Rule and Quotient Rule. The student did excellently. I think she is getting the hang of the class, and is keeping up very well. After the first 2 problems, I began asking her to say how to start the problems and she did very well, except for a badly written exponent on the argument of a trig function. She has an upcoming exam on Thursday, so we will be meeting again on Wednesday night.

Calculus Tutoring review by Ivan in Albuquerque, NM
Today the student and I met to continue going over his study guide in preparation for his final on Friday. We reviewed relative extrema, finding the concavity of functions, and using the first and second derivatives to test for our answers. We continued with limits and reviewed some rules of finding limits, such as the degrees of polynomials in fraction form, and L'Hopital's Rule. We finished off with a definite integral problem, which the student seemed pretty comfortable with. We are going to continue studying tomorrow!
