Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we reviewed the student's Latin translation homework after reviewing some of the new grammar from the current stage, the pluperfect tense. Overall, translating went pretty well, though there was a fair amount of vocabulary throughout that the student had to look up, or that I helped her to remember with various mnemonics and hints from English derivatives. We worked on translating more relative clauses as well."
"We reviewed Catullus poems, translating, and reviewing grammatical constructs. He specifically should work on identifying syncopation and indirect statements in text, as he seems to have some trouble with this."
"In this session we tackled chapter 12 and another new tense, the pluperfect. The bulk of the time was devoted to grammar and vocab introduced in the chapter--in addition to the new tense, also the vocative case and its uses. Assigned some translation exercises for the student to do; we'll start the reading next time."
