Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student discussed her most recent practice exam. I explained several different pathways to reaching a solution to certain difficult problems that the student recalled from the practice exam. I reviewed the math topics related to those questions that she recalled and also covered strategies on how to approach tougher questions. I covered math content involving rates and work, algebra, number properties, averages, and standard deviation. Overall I think I offered her some very useful strategies."
"For the last session, we finished reviewing quantitative problem types. We covered sets, geometry, measurement problems, and data interpretation. The student is much more familiar with quantitative problem types, and just needs to continue practicing working through practice exams and increasing her speed for quantitative questions. Wishing her the best of luck on the GMAT next Tuesday!"
"Our general focus was GMAT quant questions with an emphasis on strategies for the data sufficiency questions. The student was looking for help on the approach to the DSQ's, including how to not get bogged down, how to preserve test time, etc. We tried working problems by inspection without having to actually solve the math question being posed...I think there was some success, some progress made. She appeared to feel that she'd made progress and that her mental approach to the DSQ's was improving."
