Certified Tutor

I'm a rising senior in university pursuing a bachelor's degree in International Relations. I have an extensive background learning languages. I speak English and Russian fluently. I also studied Spanish in school and recently completed the intermediate level of Arabic at my university. I love learning languages, and I hope to share my passion with other students who seek to learn English, Russian, or Arabic and help them connect with people around the world.
I have experience with both teaching in the classroom and one-on-one tutoring. I volunteered for a year as a teacher for adult speakers of other languages (ESL/ ESOL), where I taught a class of about 15 students at the beginner English level following a Pearson Education textbook. In this class, we mainly focused on everyday, conversational English. I also worked as a tutor at the language center of my university, helping students learning Russian and Arabic. The tutoring sessions were one-on-one. I helped students study, explained grammar, worked through their homework assignments with them, and helped them prepare for exams. I also have experience as a language partner. I volunteered for two years as an English-language speaking buddy for Ukrainians seeking to improve their English abilities, and I interned as a language partner at an institute where I helped adults learning Russian practice their conversation skills.
I am very flexible in my lessons and can adjust based off of the needs of the student. Whether the student has specific questions about grammar, needs help studying or reviewing, or wants to practice what they already know, I would be happy to help!
