Hi! I'm Aman, a rising senior at Brown University studying physics. I have a 4.0 GPA, and have worked as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate physics classes at Brown for the past year. I absolutely love the satisfaction of a concept clicking in my head, and I want to be able to share that joy with my students and peers by guiding them to a holistic understanding of whatever they are studying.
I have also taught Taekwondo to students of all ages (from toddlers to parents) for many years, and have a lot of experience working with students of different experience levels, helping them set their own goals and tailoring my lessons to their specific desired results.
I make sure to adapt my lessons to the way my students view the world. For example, for physics and math, some students do better by looking at problems algebraically, while others do better by seeing the world geometrically. Both are valid ways of understanding the world, but by learning which perspective a student prefers, I can ensure that they progress much faster.
I like to begin my lessons by testing my students' general intuition of the subject, then I move on to the teaching, breaking each concept up into bite-sized chunks. I believe that physics and math can only be learnt by doing, so I make sure students get enough practice solving problems and seeing examples on their own. Finally, I am always open to any suggestions to improve my teaching. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
