Hunter: Clarkstown tutor
Certified Tutor
I am passionate about helping students succeed because I've seen how personalized support can not only improve academic performance but also build lasting confidence. As an ACT tutor with Wasatch Tutors, I worked one-on-one with over 100 students, tailoring each session to their unique learning styles. Through these personalized 2-hour sessions, my students consistently improved their scoressome increasing individual section scores by more than 10 points. I found it incredibly rewarding to see students gain confidence and reach their goals with a test that can shape their academic futures.
In addition, I served as a math tutor for the Clark County School District, working with over 200 students in algebra, geometry, and algebra 2. I supported both group and individual sessions, helping struggling students improve their understanding and ultimately earn passing grades. This experience deepened my commitment to creating a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and master material at their own pace.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University and am currently pursuing dual Master's degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I tutor a range of subjects, including standardized test prep, math, and economics, but my favorite is ACT prep because it blends skill-building with strategy, and I enjoy helping students unlock their potential through focused, individualized coaching.
My tutoring style is student-centered and flexibleI believe in meeting students where they are and adapting each session to maximize their learning. Outside of academics, I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with family/friends, playing soccer, and thrifting.
