Certified Tutor

I recently graduated the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in German and Linguistics. My love of communicating with others combined with natural curiosity has created a love for education, and while I work towards establish a teaching career of my own, I am bringing my talents to tutoring. My first teaching experience occurred while I was studying abroad in Germany, where I shadowed and assisted teachers at German secondary schools. Since then, I have planned and taught EFL lessons to non-native English speaking students (for which I am certified), and taught German lessons to kids at the German Saturday School in Knoxville. While my primary experience is with foreign language instruction, I am also well-versed in English writing and reading, history, and geography. I believe so much of teaching is getting to know a student's background, interests, and learning style in order to tackle important concepts in a comprehensible manner. As a tutor I intend to reach this goal with all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy learning languages, traveling, hiking, riding my bike, and going on walks.
