Certified Tutor
I am a proud graduate of both the University of Georgia and Georgia State University. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion and Health Education, followed by a Master of Science in Exercise Science with a focus on Health Promotion and Fitness. I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Public Health. Since then, I have added a couple of professional certifications to the mix, I am a certified ACSM Exercise Physiologist and a Certified Health Education Specialist.
Over the past 8 years, I have built a solid career in higher education. I spent 4 years at Georgia Tech, where I designed the lab curriculum for over 226 undergrad students in the Applied Physiology department. I also taught "The Science of Physical Activity and Health" as an adjunct lecturer and supported students through weekly office hours.
After that, I transitioned to Georgia State University, where I spent more than 4 years applying my expertise in exercise science and health promotion to the world of learning and development. I have designed and led virtual and hybrid trainings for student instructors and student trainers, using adult learning theory to make the content both engaging and effective. Along the way, I have gained hands-on experience in instructional design, learning theory, and creating accessible educational materials.
I am excited to bring all of these experiences together to create a tailored learning experience for you. In my free time, I love checking out local festivals, reading psychological thrillers and sci-fi novels, doing outdoor yoga, hiking, and cheering on my kid at soccer games.
