I believe that students thrive in an academic environment where they have plentiful opportunities to ask questions, make mistakes (and learn from them), and practice what they have learned. This is what I prioritize during tutoring sessions I want to ensure that the students are both engaged and comfortable. This means that I like to tailor my lessons to fit each student; this is a practice that has proven to help my students succeed.

I graduated last year from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor's in Immunology and a Master's in Multidisciplinary Biomedical Sciences. While in college, I tutored middle school students in both English and Math skills. After graduation, I was awarded a Princeton in Asia fellowship and taught English listening and speaking skills at Can Tho University in Vietnam. Consequently, I hold a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification. I am currently in Nashville, TN, and will be beginning medical school this fall at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine.

Due to my diverse pedagogical and academic background, I am comfortable teaching several subjects and age groups in English, math, and especially science. I look forward to working with you!
