I am a graduate of Knox College where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Integrated International Studies with a focus on Latin America. Since graduation, I have lived in Ecuador for eight years, where I solidified my fluency in Spanish, and I taught IB English and Global Politics at some of the most prestigious international bilingual schools in Guayaquil.

While living in Ecuador, I also tutored many students from grades 4-12 in subjects such as English, Social Studies, and Science. I am currently serving my community as an ESL teacher in a school where I teach students ages k-12. Although I am knowledgeable on a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about IB Diploma program subjects like Global Politics, Language B, and Extended Essay, as well as helping students learn to love reading. My favorite part of teaching is seeing students have that "lightbulb moment" where the concept finally clicks.

Education is power and I encourage my students to think critically and become life-long learners because the connection between continual learning and quality of life is clear--those who learn to learn go farther. Beyond teaching, I love to read, coach swimming, try out new recipes, and hike with my dogs.
