I first began tutoring some of my teammates on my soccer team. I went to a rigorous charter school that prioritized math and science. I would help my teammates with homework and was eventually hired on as a biology tutor in the off-season. My specialty was biology throughout my time in school. However, I took a lot of pride in my trigonometry and algebra skills which continued to serve me well into college physics classes. I want to make sure students can connect the material they are learning to their own lives so that education becomes something they truly value. It can be impossible to grasp the material at the same speed that it is tested on but I want to help students bridge that gap and remember the skills we cover past exam season.

I am a prospective medical student currently awaiting my decision. At home, I am a dog mom of 4 and a skin/haircare aficionado. I love reading novels or watching anything Studio Ghibli produces after work. My biggest stress reliever is fitness and I try to workout daily. To fuel those workouts, I have become quite the grill master, especially with steaktips. I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen and have recently taken up baking to add to my arsenal. On the academic side of things, I love connecting real life to academics. Reading the backs of products to see which organic compounds are present, calculating 20% off sales while shopping, and trying new compost piles to fertilize my garden are some of the ways I utilize my science background. Aside from my STEM experience, I hold a degree in medical anthropology and have completed extensive research into women's health and racial inequities. They are some of the driving forces behind my career in medicine. I believe that access to education is the key to moving society forward.
