I am a graduate of Western Governors University with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am currently enrolled in a graduate program at Texas Women's University studying Literature Education. Which will grant me a certificate as a Reading Specialist. I am on my third year working as a Special Education teacher in Texas. While I teach reading, writing, math and social skills my favorite subject to teach is reading, specifically teaching students how to read starting from letter identification and letter-sound knowledge. Prior to teaching in the USA I spent some time in Costa Rica in a Sunday School classroom teaching young children a lesson provided by their current teacher. That's really where I fell in love with teaching. Outside of being an educator I enjoy spending time with my dogs, hiking, and reading.
