Catherine: Chandler tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and ESL, as well as a Master's degree in Literacy and additional certifications in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Curriculum & Instruction. I've spent the last several years teaching first and second grade, and I bring a deep understanding of early childhood development to my work with students.
My greatest passion lies in helping young learners grow into confident readers and writers. I specialize in phonics, reading, and writing instruction, and I love seeing the moment when a concept "clicks" for a student. Whether building foundational literacy skills or strengthening comprehension and fluency, I tailor my approach to each learner's unique needs and learning style. My tutoring style is warm, patient, and structuredI believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to take risks and build skills at their own pace.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two kids, and our dog. We love biking, hiking, and reading together. These moments keep me grounded and continually remind me of the joy and curiosity I aim to foster in every tutoring session.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, our two children, and our playful dog. We love exploring the outdoors together—riding bikes, going on family hikes, and spending sunny afternoons at the park. I’m an avid reader and always have a book on my nightstand, whether it’s a favorite children’s book, a new novel, or a professional resource to support my teaching. I also enjoy cooking, trying new recipes, and finding small ways to bring creativity into everyday routines. Whether I'm curled up with a good book or out on an adventure with my family, I find that these experiences help me recharge and bring joy and balance to my life and work.
